One of Asia’s favourites!
Okra, also known as “ladies finger”, is one of Asia’s most nutritious vegetables with low sodium and very low saturated fat and cholesterol levels. Here’s a selection of some of the health benefits of eating okra regularly:
- Excellent source of dietary fiber: often recommended by nutritionists in cholesterol controlling and weight reduction programs.
- Lots of vitamins and minerals: of all green vegetables, Okra has some of the highest levels of vitamin A, B6, C and flavonoid anti-oxidants, potassium, folic acid and magnesium and is a good source of iron, calcium, manganese and magnesium.
